Hello! Happy Friday friends! I don’t know about you, but I was ridiculously excited about today being Friday and I’m even more excited that it’s almost over and it’s now the weekend. You just appreciate (and really, really, need) some more than others, right?
So, let’s see. Let’s talk shoes first.
I got all excited the other day when a Mizuno package arrived (as I always do) and when I opened it I found these gems.
The brand new Mizuno Wave Rider 18 Jr. The boys have been wanting them since I showed them a picture on the web and now they are proud owners.
They pretty much seem to be an exact miniature version of the Wave Riders. They’re a little big, but at least that gives us some time to work on the whole shoelace tying thing. Ha.
I’ve been running in the new Wave Inspire 12s that just came out this month.
I’ve only run with them on he treadmill so far, but they are just as amazing as I thought they would be.
Runs have all been inside on the treadmill this week and I’ve run a total of 31.8 miles. Today was a quick 5 and tomorrow is a rest day before the marathon Sunday.
Netflix show of the week has been the second season of Parks and Recreation. It’s so darn funny and I never got into it so now I have a ton of seasons to make my way through. I love it when that happens.
I’ve done strength training twice this week. Both times were super quick sessions after teaching a class at the gym. I always try to speed through a full body strength workout and hit as many muscle groups as possible. I’ve learned one of the easiest ways to do that is to use the TRX. I love that thing, but need to get a little more creative. This is one of my go to exercises though (click here for the video) along with rows.
I did some core work last night with the stability ball for the first time in months. That was fun.
After this race on Sunday I’m going to try to focus more on a consistent strength routine since things have been so sporadic lately. I’m going to be my own personal trainer.
I just mix the two with a little Silk almondmilk and stevia or sugar free Torani syrup. So darn good.
I DID step it up one night and one night only and madea huge pot of tortellini soup for everyone.
We ate leftovers for two days. Ha ha.
My work uniform has been the same. Run With Perseverance tanks and running shorts.
I wore my new Time is Love tank the other day and it felt so good because I’m finally really living it these days. I did a lot of talking about it before, but now we’re finally LIVING it.
I’m still not a fan of waking up when it’s completely dark outside, but finishing a run and then seeing this afterwards from my bedroom window is just all kinds of awesome.
The boys and I did our first ever “Flex Friday” picture this afternoon.
We thought we were cool. Do people do this or did I just make this up in my head?
My devotional this morning was awesome. Loved this perspective just on life.
And with that, I’m starting the roasted purple sweet potato eating to get ready for Sunday.
This was the first one, but I have two more bigger ones ready for my carb loading.
In all honesty, I’m pretty nervous about the Long Beach Marathon. It’s been soooooo long since I ran a full marathon. I know I’m getting slower every race and I’m totally okay with that, but I just want to fall back in love with the whole full marathon thing. I guess I’ll find out huh?
Have a great weekend. Hope you’re Friday night is just as fashionable and exciting as mine!
Ha ha ha.
