Hope you’re still enjoying family time and extending the weekend out as long as possible. I’m trying my best to do the same, but holy smokes did this week off go by way too quickly.
Christmas is going to be here so soon. Yikes!
I’ve been running outside the past three days in a row. I think that might be a new record for me. I get so excited to be able to run outside rather than on the treadmill at 5 am.
On Wednesday it was a race to see if I could get 6 miles done before the sun went down. I barely made it.
On Thanksgiving my plan had me doing a mile warm up, 8 miles at GMP (Goal marathon pace) and then a mile cool down. It was a tough one. I had to concentrate really hard to keep my head in the game. I just wanted to slow down and zone out like I usually do.
Today it was 6 easy miles. I thought about staying in my pajamas for awhile, but as soon as I stepped out the door I didn’t regret it one bit.
This morning’s run was a little over 14 miles and miles 10-13 were supposed to be at marathon pace. I ran faster those three miles, but didn’t check my pace, but maybe now that it’s over I should. I knew I was working hard though so that was good enough for me.
I had a lot on my mind today too. Funny how I always hope I’ll have all my issues and everything worked out right as I finish my run. I’m still waiting for that to happen. Ha. But it was good “run therapy” time. II ‘m convinced that’s area thing.
I have to share just a couple pictures from our Thanksgiving because I can’t help myself.
Ha ha. Yes, you get both of those pictures.
Dad was up to his martini making madness just like every other holiday.
He’s also really great at carving the turkey.
Like his helpers?
It’s a rare moment when both Andrew and I are wearing normal clothes so pictures are mandatory.
I forgot to mention that the USA Half Marathon also had free race pictures. Most of mine are less than flattering, but this one shows my race face. I have the same face every time. Ha ha.
Mizuno had this little infographic that I thought was pretty informative.
I have a bunch of fun gift ideas to share so let’s get this gift guide party started, shall we?
I just got an email that Handful bras are on sale for 25% off.
I just ordered this Beets BLU Bluetooth Scale with a gift card that was sent to me and I’m super excited about it.
How cool that it links to your phone? It should get here in just a couple days thanks to my Amazon Prime membership. Ha ha.
Obviously I’m obsessed with all Polar products, but now they even have some new ones. The new Polar A360 can measure everything and even measures your heart rate from the wrist instead of having to wear a separate heart rate monitor. How cool is that?
It’s the Polar Loop Crystal.
I use Action Wipes on a regular basis. The are a must for my gym bag, my work bag and just to have in the car. The boys are all too familiar with an “Action Wipe Bath”. Ha ha. I discovered them a few years ago and have been in love ever since. They have a new healing honey stick and healing honey lip goo that I use nightly. I put it on every night before bed.
YOU can order directly from the website (here) and use discount code “mama2015” for 20% off any order. They offer free shipping on any orders over $50 (after discount).
I have struggled for years to find good ear phones that stay in my ears. I usually use cheapo ones because every time I buy expensive ones they don’t stay in. I have teeny tiny ears. Well, I just got these Active-X wireless ear buds.
Usually I have all sorts of technological issues with wireless ear bus and they don’t stay where they’re supposed to, but I’m pleasantly surprised with these. They are super light and can be worn over or under the ear and actually stay put. I think I finally found some that will work. They come with three different size buds and a really easy user manual to figure things out (That’s key for me). Here’s some other information directly from the company.
You can wear them over the ears or under the ears. Either way they stay in 100% of the time. Under the ears is good if you are working out on a flat bench or wearing a helmet. Our cyclists and extreme sports customers wear it that way as it fits under most helmets. There are 3 different size ear bud options. Some that are noise canceling and the others let in more outside noise. You can also leave one in an one out and the headphones are still secure. You can take phone calls and the clarity for both you and who is on the other end is just as if you were holding the phone to your ear. Takes 30 minutes to charge and lasts up to 5hrs depending on how loud you listen and what device you’re connected to. Connects to anything Bluetooth. You can control everything from the headset: volume control, answering the phone, play, pause & shuffle between songs. Wearing it in an arm band, on your wrist, in a front pouch or holding in hand is best. Having it behind your body can cause connectivity issues. Outside of the obvious benefits of no wires, what really sets us apart from other bluetooth ear buds is the fit and the sound quality. No matter how hard you exercise or how much you sweat, these babies will not fall out. Runner’s World rated us top wireless ear buds of 2015.
I haven’t taken a call yet with them, but so far I’m loving them for running with music (I used them today for my long run) and using at the gym. (Why yes, I put on my cheapo robe yesterday after my run because I was cold. You know, just keeping it real.)
I think this DeskCycle is so darn awesome.
No, that’s not me, but we’re in the process of getting my up and running.
I guess the cats want to give it a try too? Seriously though, you can find more information on the DeskCycle on their website (click the link). You better believe it’s going to school with me. As soon as I get it up and running I’ll report on it.
This is just like the best idea ever. I wonder if I can pull off cycling while on my stability ball. Now that would be awesome.
My new favorite Mizuno shorts are these Phoenix Print Shorts.
They’re long enough to wear to work, but comfortable enough to run long distances in. I especially like the cute flowers on the side. Anything that makes running shorts a little fancier is a win in my book since it’s my everyday uniform.
I actually have a whole holiday gift guide on the Mizuno website with my favorites. You can check that out here.
I have the older version of this bag and Andrew and I both have their backpacks.
These bags have it all with lots of pockets for storage and extra compartments for shoes or dirty clothes.
Here’s some specifics from the website.
Apera wants to give a random winner a 2-pack of their Fit Pockets along with a 25% off coupon code good towards any new bag purchased through their website. The Fit Pockets are great to have to put wet cloths or dirty socks or such in. They’re so much better than a plastic grocery bag (that’s my go to when I’m too lazy to grab my Fit Pocket).
I’ll pick a random winner from the comments below on Tuesday, December 1st. Comments will be open until November 30th at 11:59 pm.
