Summer Goals, Soft Boiled Eggs and doTERRA Cleanse and Restore

 

HELLOOOOOOOOO SUMMER!

Holy smokes. It hasn’t really sunk in yet and man am I glad we survived the last week of school. We survived, but not without a sick kiddo though that was up all night and missed his last day of kindergarten. It was such a bummer.

The last week of school was filled with our “summer showers” (also known as swimming at the gym pool and then showering off and calling it good.

The last of the super early sweaty treadmill runs for a bit, but not the last of my GIlmore Girls binge watching. I’m only on season 4 thank goodness.

The treadmill runs will be the same, but I’ll be getting to sleep in for an extra hour or two. That’s going to be fabulous.

Training Update:

After a cut-back week of about 33 miles this past week I get to step it up a little starting tomorrow. We’re looking at a 40 mile week alternating hard days with really easy days and my first AT run (AT is for acidosis threshold which is the fastest sustainable aerobic pace) that I’ve done in say over a year or so. My AT pace is not nearly what is was a couple years ago so it should be a blast. Ha ha.

Other happenings over this past week were a reminder from Judah about how facing fears is hard, but such a good thing.

We were at the park and he attempted to go down this thing 3 times and kept changing his mind because he was scared. I encouraged him to try it once more and right as he stepped out he turned and looked t me and asked if I could stand at the bottom. I got down there so fast and he did it all by himself. He jsut needed the comfort of someone being under him in case he fell.

I’m scared of so many things it’s just silly, but I need to remember that there is always someone standing under me ready to catch me (or pick me up) when I fall.Right? That’s what the Man above does.

I made my last kindergarten school lunches. For the past month or so it’s been Sunbutter and organic Trader Joe’s jelly every single day.

When Judah was down for the count with stomach issues, we all took action and doTERRA On Guard came to the rescue.

Miraculously none of the rest of us got what he had. I’m not saying it was the oil, but I take all the possible steps necessary to not get sick when I know I’ve been exposed.

I also take all the possible steps necessary to not lose it and yell at the kiddos when the going gets tough (not that it did this past week of anything-ha).

That being said, I like to share my little doTERRA secret calming blend with the other mamas I love so obviously I had to make a couple roller bottles to give out as end of the year presents.

I actually used this little oil blend myself in the car today sitting in traffic on the freeway. Heck yes I have it in my purse at all times.

I get a little break from stuffing my face with breakfast in the car on the way to work for a bit. I might actually show up places without food or NuttZo stuck in my teeth.

This snack has been and will always be a staple though.

My favorite apples are Jazz (they currently have them at Costco and Trader Joe’s) and I smother them with NuttZo and cinnamon. It is sooooooooo good.

We declared today our first official of summer. With that we decided on a few summer goals:

1. Do one act of kindness every day.

2. Write our summer adventures in our journals.

3. Do more family workouts.

4. Do at least one lemonade stand (to make money for a new house).

5. Eat healthier.

6. Cook more at home.

7. Make sure the cats get their weekly baths (we’ve bene slacking on this big time).

8. Read every day.

9. Always put family and being in the moment first.

10. Take care of our bodies the best that we can.

We kicked a couple of those off today with our first attempt at making sot boiled eggs for breakfast.

I had to google how to do it, but basically you boil water and once it’s boiling you add the egg or eggs (1-3), turn down the heat until it’s just slightly boiling and leave the eggs in for 5-6 minutes.

We did three eggs so left them in there for 6 minutes. When the tiem is done immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath for a bit.

The boys had theirs on whole wheat toast with avocado. I had mine with avocado on top of roasted spaghetti squash with a little Cholula added on.

I know if doesn’t look that great and I promised my brother I wouldn’t show weird food pictures anymore, but this is an exception. He he.

Speaking of my brother, our first summer adventure was a trip to San Clemente for the Annual Car Show.

We had a family party afterwards too for my niece that’s moving so we had quite the fun family filled day.

One of my mail goals this summer is to be really smart with my training and eating. When the going gets tough and I get stressed, smart eating decisions usually get thrown to the back burner. Hopefully some of you can relate.

Anyhoo…..

I’ve been taking the doTERRA Lifelong Vitality Supplements for about six weeks now and love them. Now that i have a little more time on my hands and can focus on nutrition a little more I’m adding the Cleanse and Restore Program into the mix.

I’m doing it because I really could use a reset, cleanse and restore. Basically with the plan you just eat as much whole food as possible and follow the guidelines that come with the program while taking these supplements daily. Luckily the awesome plan I get from the expert Inpyn every week is right on target so I’m just sticking to that during the 30 days.

I also feel that if there’s a program out there I can’t really review it properly or tell my clients about it unless I do it myself and have a personal experience to share from.

I’m pretty darn excited about it though and could use some cleansing buddies. If you’re interested, email me (kristin@stuftfitness.com) and I’ll get you all the info. It’s a great way to kick off summer and then we can compare and chat about what’s going on and how great we feel. He he.
