Running and racing is my passion (and my therapy). I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who had kids and then got really into racing. That mom that has her kids on the side lines cheering her on. Well, I guess I wanted it bad enough because I’m making it happen. Over the past few years I have fallen in love with distance running and racing. Some of my races have been with a double stroller, but lately I’ve ditched the stroller carrying two heavy toddlers to try to be a bit more competitive and dive a little deeper into marathon running. I’ve run 8 full marathons so far (and about 25 or so half marathons). Hopefully it’s just the start of many more races to come.
I’ve just recently been back to running after a hip dysplasia and a torn hamstring injury that had me sidelined for months and kept me from running 5 marathons that were on my schedule, including the Boston Marathon and completing the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge.
After months of prolotherapy treatment and having quite a few people and doctors tell me that I should take up biking instead of running, I’m back to running and racing. I may not be as fast as I once was, but I’m back pain free and I have a lot to prove.
I’m very thankful for the opportunity to be able to run again and have a pretty full schedule ahead including Boston 2014.
It’s my dream to just keep doing what I do. Running races and inspiring others to do the same. I’m going to do it for as long as I can.

(Dreaming BIG about the Disney Dopey Challenge 1/10-1/12/14. Also dreaming about the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge since I had to pull out of both races last year because of my injury. I’ve got some making up to do. Chances are slim to none, but I’m a big dreamer and well, sometimes dreams come true.)

I ran my very first full marathon in January 2011 (with an awful sinus infection and 12 month old twins) before this blog even came to be. Since then I have run multiple half marathons and two additional full marathons.
